Ron`ca*dor"(r`k*dr"), n. [Sp., a snorer, fr. roncar to snore. So called in allusion to the grunting noise made by them on being taken from the water. ] (Zol.) Any one of several species of California scinoid food fishes, especially Roncador Stearnsi, which is an excellent market fish, and the red roncador (Corvina saturna syn. Johnius saturna).
