(prs"l), n. [OE. persely, persil, F. persil, L. petroselinum rock parsley, Gr. petrose`linon; pe`tros stone + se`linon parsley. Cf. Celery.] (Bot.) An aromatic umbelliferous herb (Carum Petroselinum), having finely divided leaves which are used in cookery and as a garnish.
