Pa"phi*an, n. A native or inhabitant of Paphos.
Pa`pier"-ma`ch"(?), n. [F. papier mch, lit., chewed or mashed paper.] A hard and strong substance made of a pulp from paper, mixed with size or glue, etc. It is formed into various articles, usually by means of molds.
Pa*pil"i*o(?), peop. n. [L., a butterfly.] (Zol.) A genus of butterflies.
Formerly it included numerous species which are now placed in other genera. By many writers it is now restricted to the swallow-tailed butterflies, like Papilio polyxenes, syn. Papilio asterias, and related species.
